چکیده
Stroke is the commonest neurological deficit caused by an interruption of blood flow to brain and loss trunk control commonly observed in patients after stroke. Impaired has a negative impact on daily activities quality life(QOL) Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) Neurodevelopmental technique (NDT), both are effective improving hemiplegic muscle endurance, strength, mobility. This study aimed compare effectiveness PNF NDT improve stability with The objective was proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation neuro-developmental therapy based protocol conventional stroke 30 subjects who fulfilled criteria were taken for categorised into 2 groups A B, each having 15 subjects. Group received along & group B respectively 4 weeks. Before study, all assessed using general assessment proforma. Both pre post-treatment assessments impairment scale ROM flexion extension. results statistical analysis tabulated terms mean, standard deviation, variance, t-test, P-value, coefficient variation groups. Paired t-test showed that there statistically significant improvement (P<0.05). at CV (83.34) less than (100.16), therefore more compared B. In this it found exercises acute or subacute patients. The Additive Effects of Core Muscle Strengthening and Trunk NMES on Trunk Balance in Stroke Patients.
OBJECTIVE To investigate an additive effect of core muscle strengthening (CMS) and trunk neuromuscular electrical stimulation (tNEMS) on trunk balance in stroke patients. METHODS Thirty patients with acute or subacute stroke who were unable to maintain static sitting balance for >5 minutes were enrolled and randomly assigned to 3 groups, i.e., patients in the CMS (n=10) group received additio...
متن کاملRelationship between trunk stability during voluntary limb and trunk movements and clinical measurements of patients with chronic stroke
[Purpose] The purposes of this study were to investigate differences between patients with chronic stroke and age matched healthy controls in trunk stability, by assessing the kinematics of the center of mass and moving body segments during voluntary limb and trunk movement, and the relationship between trunk stability and clinical measurements. [Subjects and Methods] Fifteen stroke patients an...
متن کاملElectromyography of symmetrical trunk movements and trunk position sense in chronic stroke patients
[Purpose] To explore the differences in bilateral trunk muscle activation between chronic stroke patients and healthy controls, this study investigated the symmetry index and cross-correlation of trunk muscles during trunk flexion and extension movements. This study also assessed the differences in trunk reposition error between groups and the association between trunk reposition error and bila...
متن کاملTrunk Stability, Trunk Strength and Sport Performance Level in Judo
Although trunk muscle function has been suggested to be a determinant of judo performance, its contribution to high-level performance in this sport has been poorly studied. Therefore, several tests were used to assess the differences in trunk muscle function between 11 international and 14 national level judo practitioners (judokas). Trunk strength and endurance were assessed using isokinetic t...
متن کاملAssessment of Malalignment of Trunk and Pelvis in Stroke Patients
Background: The appearance of scoliosis is one of the largest problems among stroke patients. Trunk and pelvis abnormalities begin as a result of unequal weight distribution and muscle tightness. Presence of scoliosis usually affect the position of scapula and pelvis which in turn causes impairments of motor, sensory and perceptual functions of the upper and lower extremities. Objective: To ass...
